Emily Bett Rickards was born in July of 1991. She is an Canadian actress best known for her role for her role as Felicity on The CW's television show Arrow. Rickards was raised in British Columbia. Her career began as a child, she began to explore musical theatre and dance, with the hope of later introducing herself to more serious acting. Her high school graduation was before the age of 18, and then attended Vancouver Film School, completing the Acting Essentials program. The audition was an open audition after having completed her program. This was the catalyst for her getting signed to an agency. Alida Vocal Studio taught her. She began as an one-episode special guest, but due to the positive response from viewers, and her sharp comedy, she was hired for the second season as regular.
