Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's story combines football scholarship for his parents and a commitment to the community. One of the first things he did is to help the Selmon relatives. Lucious Selmon was the father of Jessie Selmon. The family raised nine kids on an Eufala farm. Second football he was one of three brothers who were players for Oklahoma. Three of them were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy was named the most offensive lineman in the nation by the Outland as well as Lombardi Awards. Over the course of three seasons, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy serving as their starting line-up. Also, they won the national title twice. Third scholarship he was named an National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon earned a degree in Education. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer times a week in his time in college. After graduation, he moved in Tampa and played nine years with the Buccaneers. He was an All-Pro for three occasions. Then he started his career. In 1988, he was working as an Account Relations Officer for First Florida Bank in Tampa. He was employed by the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute as well as the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. There's no surprise that Lee Roy was honored when the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated Lee Roy as one of the most prominent young men in the country. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265 lbs when he played college football. The year 1975 was the first time he was on the team. group. He was hired by the University of South Florida in 1993 as the associate director of sports. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988, and the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995.
